Baumholder and Pfeffelbach near Idar-Oberstein

An adventurous lecture on historical agate finds

At the invitation of the Friends of the Museum für Naturkunde Chemnitz, Dr Matthias Schreiter from Gera will ignite a colourful firework display of colours and structures with green, yellow and red mosaic agates from Pfeffelbach (Rhineland-Palatinate), white and red tubular agates and the extraordinary image of leopard jasper shimmering in various shades of brown. On Wednesday, 21 September 2016 at 18:30 in the TIETZ event hall at Moritzstraße 20, he will talk about long-forgotten historical agate sites and explain how they can be preserved for posterity. Admission is free.
