The Environment Agency invites you to an event on the subject of bats on Friday 4 September in the city park, meeting point at the large pond (near Helbersdorfer Straße). Admission is free.

Bats are fascinating creatures: They see with their ears and fly with their hands. But there are still many prejudices about this group of animals, even though hardly anyone has ever seen a bat up close. This may change at the event.

Holger Tippmann (Lower Nature Conservation Authority) and Heiko Goldberg (volunteer bat expert) will first provide interesting facts (lifestyle, species, etc.) about these highly endangered and useful insect exterminators.
At dusk, hunting bats can then be observed in the immediate vicinity. The ultrasonic calls of the bats are made audible using a detector. The excursion is also suitable for families with children.
