Barrier-free expansion of the stops on the ring bus route (western ring)
Next Monday, 16 April 2018, construction work will begin on the expansion of the bus stops for the Ringbus line. In the first construction phase, the stops on the western section of the ring bus route 82 will be built. The project includes the stops Müllerstraße, Fraunhoferstraße Nord, Barbarossastraße, Kanalstraße, Bahnhof Mitte / Niklasberg and Gustav-Freytag-Straße.
In this context, the existing footpaths and cycle paths will be upgraded in addition to the resurfacing in the bus stop area to make them more accessible for boarding the bus. Each stop will be equipped with a dynamic passenger information system and - with the exception of Gustav-Freytag-Straße in an easterly direction - a passenger shelter. The measures should be completed by 31 August 2018.
The company Faber Infra-Bau GmbH from Drebach / OT Venusberg has been commissioned to carry out the work. The cost of the construction work is around 970,000 euros and is being subsidised by the Free State of Saxony.
The expansion of the bus stops for the eastern section of the ring bus route is planned for 2019.
