Ban on barbecues in public barbecue areas
Note from the Parks Department
Due to the current weather conditions with the extreme heat and dryness, the Parks Department must point out that according to the Green Spaces Ordinance §3 (1) point 5, barbecues are no longer permitted in public barbecue areas above forest fire warning level 3. This forest fire warning level has been reached.
This means that barbecues are no longer permitted on the nine public barbecue areas in Küchwaldpark, Schloßteichinsel in the area of the pavilion, Uferpark, Stadtpark/Wiese im Vogelschen Park, Wiesenareal im Stadtpark near the GroßStadtparkteich, Stadtpark/Wiesenareal am Südring, Chemnitzer Straße opposite Kaufland, Park Kappel, Wiesenareal am Wasserschloß Klaffenbach barbecues are prohibited.
Compliance will be monitored. Violations can be penalised with a fine of up to 1,000 euros.
