Capybaras and turtles can now be seen in the summer enclosure

Following the animal park's call for names for the foal born at the beginning of April, many suggestions have already been received. The jury of zoo employees already has a large selection of potential names. Names can still be suggested until next Sunday, 29 April. The foal will then be given its name in a small ceremony on Tuesday 1 May at 11 am.

The animals at the zoo have also been enjoying the spring-like weather for a few days now. Above all, sunlight plays a major role as the main timer for the "internal clock". Many bird species are now in a breeding mood. For some mammals, mating already took place in autumn or winter and births are imminent. Some zoo inhabitants have already moved from their winter to their summer residence. The tortoises have been moved to the summer enclosure and the capybaras (capybaras) from the tropical house to the South America enclosure. They share the enclosure with nandus and alpacas. A new path now leads directly through the South America enclosure, allowing visitors to get even closer to the animals.
