Award ceremony for the "Max Meise - Who lives there?" competition

On Monday, 27 September at 10 a.m., the first prize in the "Max Meise - Who lives there?" competition will be awarded to children from the municipal kindergarten "An der Sparkasse", Moritzstraße 33.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited. (Please note that the 3G regulation and the obligation to wear masks apply in the centre).
The children of daycare centre group 2 won the prize with a poster on bird watching in spring 2021 and a video of the participating children.
Representatives of the Lower Nature Conservation Authority at the City of Chemnitz's Environmental Agency presented them with non-cash prizes relating to birds and nature.
The birdwatching competition "Max Meise - Who lives there?" is a joint project of the City of Chemnitz Environmental Agency, the "Young Nature Guards Chemnitz" project and the Adelsberger Straße 192 nature conservation station. Chemnitz children and young people, groups from day-care centres, school classes and study groups were able to take part from March to the end of June 2021.
Participants were asked to build or buy a nesting box and draw a picture of where they had hung the nesting box and who had occupied it. They could also write a birdwatching story, photograph the nest box inhabitants or make something. There were no limits to their creativity.
Chemnitz Young Nature Guards
Children and young people can experience, discover and learn to protect nature with the "Young Nature Guards Chemnitz". They are part of the "Young Nature Guards Saxony" programme, which aims to recruit the next generation of nature conservationists.
All children and young people interested in nature can take part in the "Young Nature Guards Chemnitz" programme. Every year, a variety of environmental, nature and adventure education events, conferences and activities take place at the Chemnitz Nature Conservation Centre, Adelsbergstraße 192.
