Autumn tree planting in public green spaces

Following planning and public tendering, further tree planting in the parks and green spaces of the city of Chemnitz will begin in week 49/50 and should be completed by the end of the year. The maintenance work will continue until 30 October 2020.

The programme comprises a total of 61 trees (deciduous and coniferous) at the following twelve locations:

  • Albert-Schweitzer-Straße / Rotes Gut (4 trees)
  • Bernsdorfer Straße at the corner of Wormser Straße (5 trees)
  • Dresdner Straße / corner of Margaretenstraße (6 trees)
  • Einsiedel / pond at the grammar school (6 trees)
  • Flemmingstraße / clover meadow (3 trees)
  • Flemmingstraße / Seitental (5 trees)
  • Forststraße / Zeisigwald playground (10 trees)
  • Johannes-Dick-Straße / pedestrian zone (5 trees)
  • Karl-Seibt-Straße / playground (2 trees)
  • Max-Saupe-Straße corner of Lichtenauer Straße (2 trees)
  • Park Chemnitzaue (8 trees)
  • Street Usti nad Labem 199-125 / playground (5 trees)

The costs for this amount to a total of 39,900 euros.
These are replacement plantings for trees felled for traffic safety reasons in public green spaces and therefore only part of the municipal plantings in 2019.
