On Saturday and Sunday, 20 and 21 September, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Förderverein Botanischer Garten Chemnitz e. V. is once again organising the autumn festival in the Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147, with the help of volunteers and participants. Adults pay 6 euros admission, children and concessions 4 euros.
Various activities will be organised throughout the Botanic Garden on both days: Apple and pear exhibition with identification, mushroom exhibition and mushroom counselling as well as a plant bazaar. Younger guests can enjoy pony rides and craft activities, and there will also be guided tours of the Botanic Garden's animal husbandry.
Those interested can also try their hand at preparing tea blends and herbal salts with herbs from the botanical garden. Jams and fruit juice from the Botanic Garden will be on sale, and the Chemnitz Beekeepers' Association 1874 e. V. will be bringing honey for tasting. The rescue dog squadron, the animal rescue organisation and the hedgehog rescue service will be presenting themselves, and the waste disposal and city cleaning company of the city of Chemnitz (ASR) will also be represented with an information stand. A juggler and a line dance group will also provide entertainment. Food and drink will also be provided.
On Saturday 20 September at 2.30 pm, members of the Saxon Pomologists' Association will plant the Saxon fruit variety of the year 2025.
