On Saturday and Sunday, 19 and 20 September, from 10 am to 6 pm on both days, the Chemnitz Botanical Garden and its Friends’ Association invite you to the Autumn Festival at the Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147.
Admission costs 6 euros. Children, apprentices, holders of the Chemnitz Pass and people with severe disabilities pay a reduced admission fee of 4 euros. No booking is required.
Among other things, there will be an apple and pear exhibition with identification services, as well as a mushroom exhibition with expert advice. On Saturday, a variety of tomatoes will also be on display. For children, there will be pony rides, as well as the chance to take alpacas for a walk and build nesting boxes.
On Sunday, 20 September at 2 pm, representatives from the Saxon Pomologists’ Association will plant a fruit tree and offer advice on how to do so. Also on Sunday at 4 pm, the new mini-pigs will be christened.
In addition, anyone interested can find out about hunting, get advice on caring for orchids and buy them. Tea blends and herbal salts from the Botanical Garden will be prepared. There will be guided tours of the animal enclosures and demonstrations of working with rescue dogs, and the hedgehog rescue organisation will be presenting its work. The Chemnitz 1874 Beekeepers’ Association will be bringing honey for sale and tasting, whilst jams and juice from the Botanical Garden will also be on sale. The juggler Janko Lemmon and a line-dancing group will also be performing.
The Autumn Festival is organised and funded by the Friends of Chemnitz Botanical Garden Association (Förderverein Botanischer Garten Chemnitz e. V.).
