Author reading: "Men. Invent. Yourselves. New."
On 18.10.2016, 19:00, there will be an author reading with the psychologist and author Björn Süfke at the Lila Villa Women's Centre, Kaßbergstraße 22. In the book, the author explores the question of what it means to be a man today.
"Today's man should be a sensitive partner, but not a wimp. Strong and willing to compromise, a committed father and successful at work. No wonder men are confused. Björn Süfke provides crucial guidance on how we can overcome both the traditional and modern role models of masculinity. He impressively shows what opportunities lie in the crisis: for men, couples and society as a whole," reads the blurb for the book "Männer. Invent. Yourselves. New."
For gender equality officers in Germany, issues such as masculinity, violence against men and reconciling work and family life are becoming increasingly important for men. There needs to be an openness to the male perspective that does not fuel the battle of the sexes, but is interested in a dialogue between women and men on an equal footing and joint solutions. Björn Süfke is now invited by equal opportunities officers throughout the country to give readings or lectures.
