Asylum practice - symposium for active supporters, carers and companions of asylum seekers

Tomorrow, Wednesday 20 January, the 2nd conference on asylum practice will take place in cooperation with the
Chemnitz Chamber of Crafts, the Chemnitz Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Chemnitz Labour
Chemnitz Employment Agency and the Job Centre. The event is expected to attract around 170 people from
from politics, administration, business and society are expected to attend.
The conference will begin at 9.30 a.m. with a welcome address by Dietmar Mothes, President of the
Chamber of Crafts Chemnitz and will include presentations by Thomas Ewald, among others, until 12 noon,
Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, by Geert Mackenroth, Commissioner for Foreigners of the
Saxony and Thomas Wabst, Acting Head of Department at the Chemnitz Social Welfare Office.
The conference is taking place as part of the "Welcome Diversity in the City Administration of Chemnitz" project, which is funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF).
