ASR participates in tender for lightweight packaging
At its meeting today, the City Council gave its approval for the City of Chemnitz's waste disposal and municipal cleaning company (ASR) to once again take part in the dual systems' tender for the collection and transport of lightweight packaging.
This year, the tender will take place for the award period 2025 to 2027.
Following the possible award of the contract to the ASR and the resulting conclusion of a contract with the dual systems, the ASR's operations manager, Marcus Kropp, will be authorised to transfer part of the services (specifically the collection, transport and handling of used lightweight packaging) to Wertstoff-Transport Chemnitz GmbH (WeTraC GmbH). This is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Chemnitz. WeTrac GmbH has been providing partial services for the collection and transport of lightweight packaging on behalf of the ASR since 2013.
