Art meets citizens' office
The Chemnitzer Kunstfabrik is currently showing a selection of works by eleven young amateur artists from Chemnitz in the foyer of the Bürgeramt, Düsseldorfer Platz 1.
The exhibited works were created as part of the AG Junge Kunst and the integrative workshops for painting and graphics. The paintings and drawings can be viewed during office hours at the Citizens' Office.
The Chemnitz Art Factory is one of the projects sponsored by the City of Chemnitz.
Thanks to the professional and artistic support of the Kunstfabrik, the creative artists can develop freely without any predetermined motifs or themes. This results in very individual, special Art Brut artworks. These spontaneous forms of artistic expression bear witness to the astonishing power, creative energy, joie de vivre and vitality of the artists. The term "Art Brut" was coined by the artist Jean Dubuffet and described as "raw, unformed art".
The Chemnitzer Kunstfabrik is run by solaris Förderzentrum für Jugend und Umwelt gGmbH, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation. It is located in the solaris Technology and Business Park on Neefestraße in the former factory building of Chemnitzer Fettchemie. Here, interested children and young people are supported and encouraged in the artistic and creative fields of painting, graphics, ceramics and theatre. All workshops work together with disabled children, young people and adults.
