Chemnitz Zoo is home to animals from all over the world. This weekend, we are going on a little trip around the world to get to know the animals at the zoo and their home countries. The motto of this year's festival is "Around the world in two days".

For example, children can prove themselves in an African throwing game, the Australian treasure hunt and the South American bean target and collect colourful stamps on their world map. The show stage will also be colourful and multicultural. The programme with Narrateau juggler theatre, music from the YouMa band, Asian martial arts, little dancers from different countries, Sinjini in Bollywood style and ORRfeus with a musical programme and much more will take visitors on a little trip around the world.

Of course, guests young and old can also do handicrafts, play, guess, feast, jump and pass the time at various information stands to their heart's content.

All children who go on a "trip around the world in the zoo" in an animal costume can win a suitcase filled with travelling gear.

There are also new animal residents to welcome. Two mini pigs from Hirschfeld and Halle zoos, born in March, have moved into the farm. They will later provide for offspring.

The outdoor area has been remodelled, made more airy and a future contact area for humans and animals has been set up. The construction work has not yet been fully completed, so the very lively pigs can only be observed for the time being.
