"Around the town hall" fairs in October and November

On Monday, 4 October, from 9 am to 5 pm and on Monday, 1 November, from 9 am to 4 pm, the city of Chemnitz will once again be holding annual markets around the town hall for the first time since March 2020.
The current legal framework of the Free State of Saxony makes it possible to hold these markets, which traditionally take place on the first Monday of the month, on the market square, Neumarkt, Rosenhof and Jakobikirchplatz under special hygiene conditions.

The fairground will be divided into strolling and rest areas, with only catering traders located in the rest areas. The rest of the fairground can be used for the usual colourful market activity and is the so-called strolling area.

A hygiene concept confirmed by the city's health department sets out further regulations, for example to ensure that visitors maintain a minimum distance at all times. There are also facilities for visitors to sanitise their hands in the entrance area. Contact data collection or compliance with the so-called 3G rule is not required or planned.
Participating retailers must wear a medical face mask when in direct contact with customers. The hygiene measures will also be signposted at the main entrances and handed out separately to market traders on the day of the event.
