Architectural drawings by young people are presented
Exhibition opening on 10 March, 4.30 pm, exhibition room in the town hall foyer
On Friday, 10 March at 4.30 pm, interested parties are invited to the opening of the exhibition "Architectural Drawing" in the exhibition room in the foyer of Chemnitz Town Hall.
On display are 25 works by students from Year 13, the basic art course at the vocational grammar school, and metalworking apprentices specialising in metal design at the BSZ für Technik Il Handwerkerschule. The works include drawings of the Chemnitz town hall tower and buildings in and around Chemnitz.
Representatives of the media are also cordially invited.
Students from year 13 of the vocational grammar school and trainees specialising in metal design, who also helped to set up the exhibition, will be present at the opening. The initiators of the exhibition, art teacher Anett Bonitz, who teaches art at the vocational grammar school, and Ute Hase, an instructor specialising in metal design, will also be present.
The concept of architectural drawing has been in place at the Vocational School Centre for Technology II since 2018. The secondary school students deal with the visual basics of drawing, pencil drawing techniques, the study of nature, perspective and the design of artistic objects. In turn, the metalworking apprentices deal with lettering in construction as part of their dual vocational training.
The works are created in lessons focussing on regional architecture. Individual artistic models of buildings were also created in group work.
The work created and models built in the respective year groups were so good that they were honoured with a presentation in a public space.
The exhibition can be seen until 18 April during the opening hours of the town hall, Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 6 pm and Friday from 8 am to 4 pm (except on public holidays).
