Arched bridge at Klaffenbach moated castle to be repaired
Start of construction in the coming week
Repairs to the small arched bridge at Klaffenbach moated castle will begin next week.
The superstructure of the bridge was last partially renovated in 2010. However, as it was becoming increasingly rotten, the repair of the planking and the two handrails was put out to public tender last year. The contract was awarded to the company Hochbau & Zimmerei Jahn GbR from Langenbernsdorf. The City of Chemnitz Parks Department is planning and supervising the work.
The condition of the supporting beams and the scope of their repair can only be determined once the planking has been removed. Depending on the condition found, a construction period of approx. four to six weeks is therefore currently expected. The total costs amount to 11,000 euros.
