From Monday to Friday, 9 to 13 November, two trainees and students from Düsseldorf City Council are visiting their tandem partners at Chemnitz City Council. This exchange programme will give them an insight into the administrative work carried out in the twin city.
On Monday 9 November at 10.15 am, the exchange participants will be welcomed by Cornelia Schwalbe, Head of the Main Office. The joint programme for this week includes, amongst other things, a taster day with the City Public Order Service, as well as a tour of Chemnitz’s waste management and street cleaning services and various departments of the City of Chemnitz. Joint leisure activities will also be organised, such as a guided tour of the city, a visit to the ‘Body Worlds of Animals’ exhibition and a visit to a Niners basketball match.
On Friday 13 November, from 8.30 am to 11 am, the trainees will conclude their programme with a visit to the Fire Service Training Centre at Carl-von-Bach-Straße 10.
Media representatives are invited to attend this event.
The trainee exchange is based on a long-standing tradition between the two twin towns, which was revived in 2022. Every autumn, trainees from Chemnitz and Düsseldorf visit each other for two weeks on a rotating basis. Working in pairs, the trainees get to know the areas of operation of their counterparts, as well as the administrative side of the service and their respective cities.
