Apprentices and students of the City of Chemnitz are welcomed

Ceremonial opening of the training year on 1 September, 10 a.m., City Hall - applications for 2026 still possible

On Monday, 1 September at 10 a.m., Mayor Ralph Burghart will welcome the new trainees and students of the City of Chemnitz at a ceremony in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall, Markt 1.

Representatives of the media are invited to attend.

This year, 50 trainees and students are starting their training or dual study programme at the City of Chemnitz. A total of around 650 applications were received for the apprenticeships advertised by the City of Chemnitz.

The number of trainees and students in detail:

  • eleven students in the higher general administrative service with the training objective "Bachelor of Laws"
  • two students in social pedagogy with a Bachelor of Arts degree
  • one geomatics student
  • one student in civil engineering
  • 24 administrative assistants
  • two employees specialising in swimming pool operations
  • two gardeners specialising in horticulture and landscaping
  • four emergency paramedics
  • one animal keeper
  • two road builders

With the new trainees and students, the City of Chemnitz will have a total of around 160 young professionals in September 2025.

The range of professions for which apprenticeships can be started varies from year to year in order to meet the company's own demand for young talent and increase the chances of trainees being offered permanent positions.
