Apply for funding for young cultural projects

Application deadline for funding from the Youth Culture Fund ends on 30 April

Sponsors of socio-cultural projects have until Tuesday, 30 April 2024, to apply to the City of Chemnitz's cultural department for funding from the Youth Culture Fund. Around 23,000 euros in project funding is still available this year.

Who can apply for funding? Legal and natural persons as well as associations of persons who wish to realise socio-cultural projects are eligible to apply. Applicants must be based in Chemnitz or want to realise their project in Chemnitz. Minors or initiatives consisting of minors can submit an application with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

What is funded: Experimental cultural projects with a specific theme and a time limit are supported. Openness and creativity are required, as well as the joy of designing and trying things out, curiosity and a willingness to try something new. The project ideas can be cross-disciplinary and cross-thematic. Projects that focus on the target groups of children and young people are particularly welcome. The projects must be completed in 2024.

How to apply for funding: Applications for financial support must be made in writing. There is a separate application form for this.

How much funding can be applied for: Funding from the Youth Culture Fund is limited to a maximum of €2,500 per measure and may not exceed 90 per cent of the total costs.

In addition, spontaneous projects taking place during the year can also be funded by the cultural organisation with up to 2,000 euros per project. The application for a spontaneous project must be submitted at least six weeks before the start of the project.
