Application deadline for project funding 20 February 2017
Information from the Coordination Office on the Local Action Plan for Democracy, Tolerance and a Cosmopolitan Chemnitz (LAP)/Partnership for Democracy as part of the federal programme "Living Democracy"
The application deadline for project funding as part of the Local Action Plan for Democracy, Tolerance and a Cosmopolitan Chemnitz and the federal programme "Living Democracy" ends on 20 February 2017. Applications must be submitted in written and digital form to the coordination office in the Bürgerhaus am Wall by 20 February 2017. The maximum grant amount is 6000 euros.
For young people up to the age of 27, 5000 euros are available for micro-project funding. They are administered by the Netzwerk für Kultur- und Jugendarbeit e.V. (Network for Cultural and Youth Work). The young people involved in the youth forum decide on the allocation of funding.
Prevention work in the areas of democracy promotion, democracy education and violence prevention is of great importance due to the current situation. This year, Chemnitz City Council is once again supporting initiatives that are committed to democratic, diverse and peaceful coexistence. The funding budget will amount to 80,000 euros, subject to the provision of budget funds from the City of Chemnitz. This will be supplemented by funding from the federal programme "Demokratie Leben" (Living Democracy) amounting to 22,000 euros. Initiatives, associations, groups and individuals who wish to participate in the implementation of the local strategy will be supported. The target groups remain children and young people, senior citizens, Chemnitz residents and multipliers.
