Adult education centre: Lecture and live hacking on 27 October, 5.30 to 7 p.m., TIETZ, event hall
On Friday, 27 October, from 5.30 to 7 p.m., experts from various institutions will demonstrate how hackers operate on the internet and how easy it can be to access other people's data. The event organised by Chemnitz Adult Education Centre is aimed at children and young people with their parents, grandparents, school classes and teachers and will take place in the TIETZ event hall on the 3rd floor.

Fraud when shopping online, accessing online accounts or viruses and Trojans in inboxes: according to Digitalbarometer 2022, a citizen survey conducted by the Federal Ministry for Information Security (BSI), around 30 per cent of people surveyed have already been victims of online crime.
The event will focus on security when using the internet, checking emails or shopping online. In addition to live demonstrations of hacker attack scenarios, the IT experts will explain security vulnerabilities when using your own online devices. They will also show how simple tricks can be used to protect your own data from unauthorised access.
The Saxony Consumer Advice Centre will report on specific cases of online crime from its consulting practice. Employees of the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner will shed light on the legal framework in a short keynote speech. Representatives of the Federal Office for Information Security will be available after the event to answer questions about online security.
This event is being held in cooperation with the Saxon State Chancellery, the Saxon Adult Education Association and the Saxony Consumer Advice Centre as part of European Cyber Security Month.
