Annual report highlights European diversity in Chemnitz

Many different projects on current EU topics were realised in 2016

Once again, a brochure on the European work of the City of Chemnitz has been published, which clearly illustrates the projects, events and networking activities that have been realised. With this publication, the EU Office of the City of Chemnitz has compiled various examples from 2016 that provide an insight into the diversity of topics and stakeholders.

Many of the projects addressed the current situation of refugees: The ESF projects "Bridge for Academics in Chemnitz" and "VISION: Diversity and Integration in Saxony - Perspectives for Migrants in Open Companies" promote integration into the labour market, the European Week of Local Democracy last year was held under the motto "Living together in multicultural societies: Respect, dialogue, interaction" and the EUROCITIES city network addressed the "Integration of refugees through economic activities" in its business forum.

Practical examples from the fields of culture, energy efficiency, creative industries, business start-ups, mobility, urban development and much more are also illustrated.

The brochure is available in the town hall and in Moritzhof. It can also be downloaded as a PDF file from the city's website.
