Anne Frank project: exhibition and MIT-MACH theatre with the Scheselong Theatre from Berlin

On 29 November and 30 November 2012, a scenic collage will be shown in the Philippstraße 20 school building in cooperation with the Network for Cultural and Youth Work and the Scheselong Theatre from Berlin. The theme is the fate of Anne Frank. The Berlin youth theatre "Scheselong" presents a staged adaptation of parts of Anne Frank's diary entries, enriched with their own texts.
The play is a hands-on theatre learning project on the subject of tolerance and democracy. It takes place during the two years (1942-1944) in hiding. Two girls appear on stage, find a suitcase and discover Anne Frank's diary alongside many photos. The metamorphosis begins - both girls slip into Anne Frank's stories. The story of Anne Frank and her family is told in 24 pictures. Embedded in the Nazi era, the theatre play opens up a discussion about the current situation of right-wing extremism in Germany. The project is combined with the exhibition of the Friedensbibliothek Berlin. Afterwards, the audience is invited to discuss what they have seen, as well as racism and xenophobia today.
Classes or youth groups can register. The play lasts 60 minutes, the subsequent discussion 45-60 minutes.
