Annaberger Straße open to traffic again

Information from the Parks and Gardens Department on parks and green spaces

Annaberger Straße was reopened to traffic after being cleaned during the night.

The floods and heavy rainfall over the past few days also caused considerable damage to some of Chemnitz's public green spaces. According to initial findings, the road surfaces in particular were affected. For this reason, until the damage has been repaired, the Parks Department is asking all citizens to take appropriate care and attention when lingering and passing through the public green spaces and parks.

The following roads and bridges are currently still closed:

  • Adelsbergstraße/Olbersdorfer Straße
  • Altenhainer Allee (Einsiedler Hauptstraße to Zschopauer Straße)
  • Schulstraße bridge, currently being cleaned
  • Chemnitz Valley cycle path (between Lohrstraße and Bornaer Straße), due to undercutting
  • Feudelstraße
  • Pedestrian bridge at Harthau railway station, currently being cleaned
  • Pedestrian bridge at the market hall, has been raised
  • Pedestrian bridge Schulstraße
  • Pedestrian bridge between Talsperrengrund and Einsiedler Hauptstraße
  • Pedestrian bridge Erfenschlager Straße (at HNr. 179)
  • Glösaer Straße (near the transformer station), currently being cleaned
  • Court steps (due to heavy moisture penetration)
  • Heinersdorfer Straße (near the sewage treatment plant)
  • Inselsteig (bridge, gas damage)
  • Kauffahrtei (between Heinrich-Lorenz-Straße and Scheffelstraße)
  • Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße (HNo. 52 to Würschnitz)
  • Querweg (Wittgensdorf) -> closed by the building yard
  • Access to Einsiedler Hauptstraße HNr.1 via Kurt-Franke-Straße
  • Cycle path Eubaer Straße, at the Euba reservoir, due to water drainage of the reservoir

The affected road sections will only be opened after the entire traffic area (including the pavements) has been checked by the civil engineering office. The sandbags will be collected by the ASR.

Road users are once again reminded that driving around the full disc is at their own risk. Some of the closed roads have been damaged by the high volumes of water.
