Annaberger Straße: additional roadworks due to manhole renovation
From Monday, 13 November 2017, there will be additional roadworks in the Annaberger Straße area between Erfenschlager Straße and Zöblitzer Straße.
In the area between Olbernhauer Straße and Zöblitzer Straße, new telecom manholes will be installed between 13 November and 1 December 2017 - in addition to the drinking water installation already underway in the area between Erfenschlager Straße and Marienberger Straße.
This means that the city-bound carriageway will be closed. Traffic travelling towards the city centre will be guaranteed together with traffic travelling towards the country side on the country side carriageway.
The overall construction measure includes three Telekom cable ducts. During an inspection by Telekom, all cable shafts were found to have considerable damage that jeopardised stability and road safety, which was so serious that there was an acute risk of collapse and a danger to life and limb due to the proximity to the road.
As an emergency measure, the cable shafts were braced with the help of a structural engineer. However, this measure does not replace standard construction methods. It is therefore imperative that the measure is carried out in parallel and without delay.
