Animated film "1917 - The real October"
Film screening on 29 November, 7 pm at Weltecho
The adult education centre and the Weltecho are jointly inviting you to a screening of the animated film "1917 - Der wahre Oktober" by director Katrin Rothe on 29 November from 7 to 9 pm in the Weltecho cinema on the 1st floor. Admission is free.
The animated film tells the story of the so-called October Revolution in an interesting, cinematic and artistic way. Using previously unknown source material such as diaries, reports and literary works, Russian avant-gardists and artists such as Maxim Gorky and Kazimir Malevich are interviewed about the events and the times.
The film inspires with a special visual aesthetic. Various materials such as cardboard, strings and fabrics are combined in collages to create the characteristic main characters. Layering animations create complex and extremely variable facial expressions, gestures and body language.
Directed by two-time Grimme Award winner Katrin Rothe, the film combines visual and cinematic means in an imaginative and lively way.
