On Saturday 8 March, International Women's Day, the zoo and wildlife park will also be focusing on the female gender in the animal world.
Is the female gender defined exclusively by its role as a mother? Or are there also female hunters, teachers or queens? And what about equal opportunities in the animal world? Are there perhaps some parallels to us humans?
At 10 a.m., these questions will be explored in an informal and relaxed guided tour of the Oberrabenstein game reserve. Game reserve manager Mathias Wagner will pay particular attention to the local wildlife. The meeting point is at the entrance to the game reserve. The tour lasts around two hours. Participation is free of charge. Only the entrance fee has to be paid. The tour is not only aimed at women, men are of course also welcome to join.
From 9.30 a.m., the regular feedings at Chemnitz Zoo also take place under this special motto. The zookeepers have interesting facts to tell about the female animal world. In addition, there will be special information about the respective role of the female animals in selected enclosures. The offer is free of charge, only the entrance fee has to be paid.
