Animal Valentine's Day at the zoo
Winter holiday activities and lecture "From Russia to North Korea"
Guided tours for Valentine's Day
It doesn't always have to be chocolate or flowers. A visit to Chemnitz Zoo in conjunction with a special guided tour could also be a lovely gift for Valentine's Day. The animal Valentine's Day starts on Saturday, 16 February at 11 am and on Sunday, 17 February at 2 pm with a little surprise. Zoo educator Jan Klösters will guide guests through the zoo as a "relationship expert" and explain the animals' love lives. An exclusive animal feeding awaits you as a highlight.
The Valentine's Day tours are aimed at adults and last approximately one hour. The cost of a guided tour is 10 euros per person (including admission).
Please register by Thursday, 14 February 2019 by calling 0371 85 00 28 or sending an email to tierpark(at)stadt-chemnitz.de.(The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 20 people per tour.)
Holiday offers
To coincide with the start of the holidays, Chemnitz Zoo is once again offering exciting short guided tours. In the Oberrabenstein wildlife enclosure, the popular show feedings will take place again on weekdays at 11 a.m., on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with the wolves and lynxes and on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the mouflons and wild boars.
Crafts for winter birds
The zoo will also be busy crafting again - this time for blackbirds, sparrows etc. These are some of our most common winter birds. What can you do to help them during the cold season? At the winter holiday offer on Wednesday, 20 February and Wednesday, 27 February, both from 10 a.m., children aged 6 and over can learn exciting things about winter birds and how to feed them. Everyone can also make a bird feeder to take home. The events will each last around one and a half hours and cost €1.50 per participant plus admission. The maximum number of participants is ten, please register in advance at tierpark(at)stadt-chemnitz.de.
