Animal Mother's Day at the zoo
Special guided tours on animal mothers and children on 12 May, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
On Mother's Day, Sunday 12 May at 11 am and 1 pm, Chemnitz Zoo is offering special tours for all mothers, grandmothers and the whole family, focusing on the animal mothers and children. Do raven mums really exist? And can we humans learn anything from some animal species? These and other exciting questions will be answered.
The tours start in the entrance area of the zoo and last approximately one hour. They are thematically aimed at adults, but children are welcome.
The cost of a guided tour is 10 euros per person (including admission).
Pre-registration by Friday, 10 May, by e-mail to tierpark(at)stadt-chemnitz.de is requested, as the number of participants is limited.
But a trip to Chemnitz Zoo is not only a great experience for the whole family on Mother's Day. Young animals and their mothers (and fathers) can be observed in some animal species, e.g. the kangaroos, emus, meerkats and ostrich quails in the tropical house.
Opening hours from April to September:
Zoo: 9 am to 7 pm, last admission 6 pm
Game enclosure: 9 am to 6 pm, last admission 5 pm
