An-KREUZEN for Saxony! Knowledge about the election of the Saxon state parliament

Event organised by the adult education centre, 21 August, 6.45 pm, TIETZ

The VHS is offering a course on Wednesday, 21 August from 6.45 to 9 p.m. in the run-up to the state elections to refresh basic knowledge about the elections. The event will take place in course room 4.07 of the TIETZ. Participation is free of charge.

The following questions will be answered: Which electoral law currently applies in Saxony? What does "strategic voting" mean? What exactly is meant by the terms minority voting, list and direct mandates, overhang mandates and equalising mandates? What is the difference between the first and second vote?

The Saxon state parliament will be re-elected on 1 September 2019. Around three million citizens in Saxony will be called upon to vote. So it's good to know how every vote counts. All citizens should be able to make their voting decision competently and confidently.

This event is a cooperation between the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre and the Saxon State Centre for Political Education as part of the "Kontrovers vor Ort" series.
