On Wednesday, 13 November, from 5 p.m., interested parties are invited to an online lecture with political scientist Prof. Dr Stephan Bierling. Under the title "America after the election: opportunities and risks for the transatlantic partnership", Prof Dr Bierling will discuss the possible consequences of the US presidential election for Europe and transatlantic cooperation.

The outcome of the 2024 US presidential election will have far-reaching consequences for the global political order and transatlantic relations. What policy will the new President Donald Trump pursue towards Europe? What changes can be expected in trade and defence issues? In his lecture, Prof Dr Bierling, an expert on US foreign policy and transatlantic relations, will shed light on the geopolitical challenges and explain what role Germany could play in international politics in the future.
Prof Dr Stephan Bierling, Head of the Chair of International Politics at the University of Regensburg, advises political decision-makers and companies on geopolitical issues in addition to his teaching activities. His best-known publications include the SPIEGEL bestseller "America First. Donald Trump in the White House" and his latest work "Die Unvereinigten Staaten. The US political system and the future of democracy".
The event is a cooperation between the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's Saxony Political Education Forum and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre.
