Ambassadors on the road for the European Capital of Culture 2025

Lord Mayor Sven Schulze is travelling to Brussels, Ljubljana and Nova Gorica this week

Lord Mayor Sven Schulze will be visiting several cities in Europe in the coming days to promote Chemnitz as European Capital of Culture 2025 and agree several cooperation agreements.

On Tuesday, he will be travelling to Brussels to present the Capital of Culture project with musical and cultural accompaniment at the representation of the Free State of Saxony. The liaison office is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Afterwards, talks with MEPs are on the agenda.

On Wednesday, the trip continues to Ljubljana, Chemnitz's twin city in Slovenia. Talks with the mayor and cultural representatives are scheduled there. The aim is to agree on further specific projects in which the twin cities want to work together beyond 2025.

At the end of the week, the trip continues to Nova Gorica. The Slovenian city is the European Capital of Culture 2025 together with Chemnitz, and the Lord Mayor will sign a cooperation agreement there. The two cities want to use this to develop joint projects for 2025 and network their respective cultural scenes.
