City Council adopts decision to weigh up and approve the development plan - Part B: Pleißenbach green corridor
At its meeting today, Chemnitz City Council approved the draft development plan for the "Altendorf railway station site - Part B Pleißenbach".
This means that the foundations have now been laid for the next steps. The main aim is to sustainably develop the former railway station site on Gutsweg. In addition to three areas for the structural development of residential areas, a central green corridor is to be developed as a publicly usable open space along the Pleißenbach stream and the former railway line.
The design of the open space is to be initiated by the renaturalisation of the Pleißenbach stream and the construction of a continuous premium cycle path on the former railway line.
The aim of the public participation process was to consult and incorporate the concerns of local residents and the companies and authorities involved. The necessary further procedural steps will follow in the coming months.
