After the water level drops: Closed roads are gradually cleaned and then opened - Observe current regulations on site

Due to the floods, over 40 roads in the vicinity of the rivers were either partially or completely closed at the weekend. In the meantime, numerous closures have been lifted and the remaining roads are gradually being cleaned, checked and reopened as soon as the situation allows. Annaberger Straße between Reichsstraße and Treffurthstraße remains closed and there is still no sign of it opening.

Drivers are asked to follow the signs and instructions of the emergency services on site. The following roads are currently still closed (as of Tuesday morning):

  • Adelsbergstraße/Olbersdorfer Straße
  • Annaberger Straße (between Reichsstraße and Treffurthstraße)
  • Altenhainer Allee (Einsiedel to Zschopauer Straße)
  • Schulstraße bridge
  • Bridge at the market hall
  • Beckerbrücke / Aue
  • Chemnitzer Straße (Klaffenbach / mineral oil works)
  • Florian-Geyer-Straße over Chemnitz, being cleaned
  • Pedestrian bridge at Harthau railway station
  • Pedestrian bridge at the market hall
  • Pedestrian bridge Schulstraße
  • Pedestrian bridge between Talsperrengrund and Einsiedler Hauptstraße
  • Glösaer Straße (level with transformer station), being cleaned
  • Gustav-Freytag-Straße (between Reichenhainer Straße and Annaberger Straße)
  • Heinersdorfer Straße (near the sewage treatment plant)
  • Inselsteig
  • Kauffahrtei (between Heinrich-Lorenz and VW access road)
  • Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße (H no. 52 to Würschnitz)
  • Marienberger Straße between Annaberger Straße and Erfenschlager Straße, in cleaning
  • Neefestraße at the Neefepark access road (under the bridge)
  • Theodor-Körner-Straße (Röhrsdorf)
  • Treffurthbrücke bridge

There may be changes due to current events.

Another note: In some streets, residents are removing manhole covers from the streets to prevent them from clogging up again. However, this can create dangerous situations for motorists. You are expressly requested not to remove the manhole covers in order to avoid endangering other road users.
