After poultry plague case in Burgstädt - veterinary office of the city of Chemnitz issues general ruling as a precautionary measure
Following an outbreak of avian influenza in Burgstädt, the city of Chemnitz is also considered an endangered area.
The veterinary office has therefore issued a general ruling for several areas in the north and west of the city of Chemnitz, which is primarily aimed at hunters and poultry owners.
In the affected area, numerous restrictions and bans apply to owners of poultry and other captive birds, but hunters are also affected by the protective measures. For example, hunting game birds is prohibited.
In addition, the City of Chemnitz Food Inspection and Veterinary Office is asking the public to report any wild birds found dead.
