Affordable.good.living
Today, 7 pm, exhibition opening on strategies for affordable housing at the TIETZ
What is it like to live elsewhere and what is it like to live in Chemnitz? The exhibition "Affordable.Good.Housing - Strategies for affordable housing", which opens today, Wednesday, 10 October 2018, 7 p.m., on the ground floor of the TIETZ, explores this question. Media representatives are cordially invited to the vernissage.
The exhibition is dedicated to a basic need for affordable housing, which is becoming increasingly difficult to fulfil due to constantly rising rents in urban centres.
Architecture and urban planning can make a decisive contribution to finding new solutions. The exhibition features buildings by international architecture firms and illustrates the potential, problems and dependencies of various approaches. The exhibition was initiated by AIT-Architektursalon in 2015 and presented for the first time at the "Make City Festival" in Berlin.
The exhibition can be seen at TIETZ from 11 October to 8 November.
There will be two further events in the programme accompanying the exhibition: On Tuesday, 23 October, a "Chemnitz Urban Culture" workshop will take place at 5 pm in TIETZ, room 4.08. Characteristic architectural styles of Chemnitz's urban development will be presented and discussed.
On Tuesday, 30 October at 5 pm, the Centre for Building Culture Saxony invites you to the "Forum Alternative Chemnitz Housing Concepts" on the ground floor of the TIETZ. Alternative Chemnitz housing concepts will be presented.
