Adult education centre: series on basic political knowledge
On Wednesday, 13 February, from 6.45 to 8.15 pm, the three-part course series for refreshing basic political knowledge will be concluded at the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre. The venue is course room 4.07 in the TIETZ. Admission is free.
The final topic of this evening will be the electoral system in Germany. Among other things, it will clarify: What does "strategic voting" mean? What exactly is meant by terms such as minority voting rights, list and direct mandates, overhang mandates, equalising mandates, first and second votes? Why do parties exist? What are the benefits of coalitions and what can they not achieve?
The courses are an offer to the citizens of Chemnitz to prepare themselves well for the upcoming elections. There will be ample opportunity for discussion.
