Adult education centre launches series on basic political knowledge
On Wednesday, 16 January 2019, from 6.45 pm to 9 pm, the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre will start a three-part course series to refresh basic political knowledge. The venue is course room 4.07 in the TIETZ. Participation is free of charge.
Further dates are 30 January and 13 February, also from 6.45 to 9 pm.
These are just some of the questions that will be answered over three evenings: What fundamental rights and human rights apply in Germany? What role do the federal states play in the political system? What do the legislative, executive and judicial branches mean? How do their representatives act and who controls them? What do minority voting rights, list and direct mandates and much more mean?
The courses are an offer to the people of Chemnitz to help them prepare for the upcoming elections this year. There will also be ample opportunity for dialogue.
