Activities around the World Book Day

City library: "Pick a poem" on 21 and 22 April - "Read and let read" on 23 April, from 3 to 6 pm

Around World Book Day, which is celebrated on 23 April, the Chemnitz City Library team is once again inviting people to discover literature.

On Friday and Saturday, 21 and 22 April, clotheslines with poetic texts by Chemnitz hobby authors will once again be strung in the central library and in the district libraries. Under the motto "Pick a poem - pick a story", members of the 1st Chemnitz Authors' Association have been providing self-penned love poems, sayings and short stories for 21 years now. Visitors are not only invited to read them: Picking them and taking them home is expressly permitted and encouraged.

On Sunday, 23 April, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., the city library and the Flanierlesen initiative invite you to an open reading stage in the foyer of the TIETZ under the motto "Read & let read for everyone".

An open microphone, finely tuned ears and open hearts for everyone - that's all you need for this afternoon. You can read foreign and your own works in all languages (with meaningful translation). The maximum reading time is seven minutes. Registration takes place on site. The order will be drawn by lot. The readings will be accompanied by music from Nooshin Bam.

Admission is free.
