Action days invite you to get a taste of the courses on offer

Adult education centre: extraKlasse* on 8 and 9 September, 4 to 8 p.m. each day, TIETZ

On Monday and Tuesday, 8 and 9 September, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre at TIETZ is once again inviting you to the extraKlasse* campaign. On these two days, interested parties will have the opportunity to try out the wide range of courses on offer free of charge.

All offers in the extraKlasse* programme are available at www.vhs-chemnitz.de/extraklasse. Registration is possible on the linked course pages as well as by telephone on 0371 488 4343 or in person during service hours on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm. It is advisable to book in good time, but those interested can also drop in spontaneously on the days of the event.

Watercolour painting, laughter yoga, Bollywood dance and much more can be tried out free of charge. The two afternoons are not just about the action programme. Interested parties can also get to know the team, the teaching organisation and the premises of the adult education centre.

The course highlights include "With flair - 200 years of Braille", "Colour and style - your personal look", "The sound of the north - taster course in Icelandic and Finnish" and "Breathe consciously and meditate briefly". Anyone who has always wondered how to decipher grandma and grandpa's Sütterlin script or how autogenic training works will receive an informative 45-minute introduction to each of these topics.

The extraKlasse* programme also includes information events for all those who would like to run courses at the adult education centre. Under the title "Is education your thing?", head of department Manuela Dörrer will explain how to start teaching at the VHS on Monday, 8 September at 6 pm and answer questions from interested parties.

About the extraKlasse* programme:

The extraKlasse* took place for the first time at the end of September 2022. The idea behind the campaign is to make learning at the adult education centre a low-threshold experience. On the one hand, the VHS team wants to provide suggestions and guidance for course selection and, on the other, make it easier for interested parties to access and join the courses on offer. After the extraKlasse* was very well received last year, the programme will take place once a year at the start of the winter semester in future.
