Action days extraKlasse* to get to know the courses
Adult education centre: free offers on 25 and 26 September, 4 to 8 p.m.
On Monday and Tuesday, 25 and 26 September, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre will once again be hosting the extraKlasse* campaign. This is the title of two action days full of taster programmes. These offer interested parties the opportunity to familiarise themselves with a wide range of courses, try them out free of charge and experience the adult education centre for themselves.
All offers in this programme are available online at www.vhs-chemnitz.de/extraklasse. Anyone interested can drop in spontaneously on the campaign days, but we recommend registering for the courses in good time. Registration is possible on the linked course pages, by telephone on 0371 488 4343 or in person during service hours on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm.
In addition to yoga, calligraphy, painting and drawing, the course highlights include "Healthy cooking for those in a hurry", "Photography with your smartphone", "Aroma care" and a "Journey into the world of the Spanish language". There are also 45-minute courses on mindfulness, drone flying devices and Sütterlin writing.
New to the extraKlasse* programme are information events for all those who would like to run courses at the adult education centre themselves. Under the title "Sharing knowledge", experienced department heads will answer questions about teaching at the adult education centre on Monday at 6 pm and Tuesday at 5 pm.
The extraKlasse* action days took place for the first time at the end of September 2022. The idea behind them is to make learning at the adult education centre a low-threshold experience. On the one hand, the adult education centre team would like to provide suggestions and guidance for course selection and, on the other, make it easier for interested parties to access and join the courses on offer. After the campaign days were very well received last year, they are to take place once a year at the beginning of the winter semester in future.
