Accommodation and heating costs guideline is adjusted
Expenses for accommodation and heating in accordance with Social Security Codes II and XII
At its meeting today, the City Council decided to amend the City of Chemnitz's guideline on accommodation and heating costs.
The requirements for accommodation and heating are recognised in accordance with Section 22 of the Second Book of the German Social Code (SGB II) and Section 35 of the Twelfth Book of the German Social Code (SGB XII) in the amount of the actual expenses, insofar as these are reasonable.
Last year, the City Council instructed the City of Chemnitz to adjust the guideline outside of the regular review in order to take into account the increased fees for waste disposal.
As a result, the calculated cold operating costs per square metre will increase by 22 cents from 1 May 2023.
The proposed adjustment of the appropriate gross cold rents is a transitional arrangement until the regular review of the directive on 1 May 2024, which will take place in conjunction with the review of the rent index data.
The values of the transitional regulation only apply until this date.
