Accidents on Moritzstrasse
Defective drinking water pipes require road closures
Due to two defective drinking water pipes in the area of Moritzstraße, the City of Chemnitz Civil Engineering Department has to close roads and individual lanes at short notice. Burst pipes have been discovered underground near the TIETZ and near the Sparkasse bank. The repair work is expected to continue until Friday, 5 August.
Moritzstraße between Zschopauer Straße and Reitbahnstraße has therefore been declared a one-way street in the direction of Reitbahnstraße.
Due to the second accident, Moritzstraße is fully closed between Annaberger Straße and Reitbahnstraße at Sparkasse. The kindergarten and adjacent car park are still accessible from Annaberger Straße.
The defective pipes have caused underground undermining in the road. This requires immediate repair.
