Accessibility of the administration extended due to corona - public authority telephone 115 also available at weekends

Clarification on alleged curfew

Chemnitz City Council is extending its telephone availability due to the coronavirus pandemic. The public authority telephone number 115 is also available on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. Citizens can use this central number to obtain information on their questions relating to coronavirus. "In the coming weeks, 115 will be the central number that citizens can use to raise their concerns on all topics, including coronavirus," says press spokesperson Matthias Nowak.

Clarification on alleged curfew
A voice message is currently circulating on social media claiming that the Chemnitz City Council has decided on a curfew for the city of Chemnitz this week. This is FALSE. Chemnitz City Council has not met this week and all meetings have been cancelled until at least Easter. A curfew, as has been imposed in other European countries or other federal states, happens when all other measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus are not sufficient. We do not know when this will be necessary in Saxony.

Hence the appeal: Everyone help and follow the recommendations of the authorities. Avoid crowds, keep two metres away from other people, be considerate - so that the virus does not spread further.
And: Find out more from official organisations such as www.chemnitz.de, at www.sachsen.de or on the city's social media channels.
