A72 Rottluff junction partially closed from 13 January
From Monday, 13 January to Friday, 7 February, the second stationary traffic light system will be installed on Kalkstraße for the south-western A72 slip road, Rottluff junction. The first system on the north-east slip road was installed in December 2019. (see PM 814/2019)
During the construction period, the slip road from Kalkstraße onto the A72 in the direction of Hof is now fully closed. It is also not possible to exit the A72 from Leipzig onto Kalkstraße. Traffic will be diverted via the neighbouring junctions. Traffic on Kalkstraße is guaranteed throughout.
The construction work for the second set of traffic lights includes the following work:
- Construction of seven mast foundations, including civil engineering for pipe connections, as well as the technical equipment
- Installation of the new control unit
- Construction of eight induction loops
- Marking work
With the traffic lights, the south-west slip road will have the same traffic control as the north-east slip road on the A72 motorway, Rottluff junction on Kalkstraße. The two traffic light systems are operated in coordination with each other. However, the priority for the control of both traffic light systems is to avoid tailbacks onto the motorway.
