A viaduct is being built in Altendorf
At its meeting today, the city council approved the construction of the new viaduct in Altendorf. The project is part of the overall "Pleißenbachgrünzug" project, which in turn is an important intervention area for Chemnitz as European Capital of Culture 2025 as part of "Stadt am Fluss".
The new bridge will serve as a future pedestrian and cycle path linking the Altendorf and Kaßberg districts, provide residents of the new residential buildings being built in the Altendorf station area with access to Limbacher Straße and guide schoolchildren safely through the park.
Construction is scheduled to start in mid-2023. The total costs amount to just under 1.7 million euros. Around 1.1 million euros of this is funding.
