On Saturday, 9 May, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Chemnitz City Library invites you to the Free Comic Book Day in the Gaming Arena of the Central Library in the TIETZ. This is aimed specifically at children and young people aged six to 13. Every child capable of reading can take along comics provided by various publishers - the exact number will be determined by a wheel of fortune. Entry is free of charge.
There are 22 different comics to choose from - ranging from fantasy and fun to adventure and wonder. In addition to books with well-known title heroes such as "Avatar - The Lord of the Elements", "Star Wars: The Mandalorian" and "Idefix", insider tips such as "Die Verwandlungen der Füchsin", "Herr Elefant und Frau Grau gehen in die große Stadt" and "Elsbeth" will also be handed out.
If all the booklets are sold out, most of the titles are also available to borrow. Visitors can also borrow a selection of other library comics.
On Free Comic Book Day, bookshops, comic shops and libraries in Germany, Austria and Switzerland give away numerous comics completely free of charge. The aim is to make reading fun and get young readers excited about the colourful world of comics.
