82 art projects by associations, initiatives and artists are supported with around 2 million euros from the City of Chemnitz budget

At its regular meeting yesterday, the Culture and Sports Committee approved the cultural administration's proposal for funding cultural institutions and measures in 2014 with its approval of draft resolution B-092/2014. This means that a total of 1,951,898 euros can be made available from the municipal budget for artists, project groups, cultural associations and initiatives active in the city.

In 2014, a total of 82 recipients in the areas of museums, collections, gardens; performing arts; music; visual and applied arts; film; literature; cultural and communication centres and socioculture; local history and customs and youth culture will receive institutional or project funding from the city budget (for all details, see the annex to the draft resolution). Exciting projects such as the cultural festival "Begehungen" and the festival "unMittelBARock!", film productions, projects by the band office and the project "14-18 WAR WAS" on the topic of 100 years of the First World War with artistic reflections by Prof. Ines Bruhn are supported with municipal funds.
