70 years of marriage - Johanne and Werner Richter
Congratulations on the special wedding anniversary on 5 June 2016
On Sunday, 5 June 2016, Johanne and Werner Richter from Chemnitz celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary, their so-called "wedding of grace". Among the well-wishers at the couple's home at Annaberger Straße 300 in 09125 Chemnitz will be the City of Chemnitz: a representative of the Mayor's Office will offer congratulations to the couple on their wedding day at 10 am.
Family has always been a top priority for the Richters. The two Chemnitz natives have lived in the house on Annaberger Straße in Harthau since their marriage in 1946, which they still own today. The birth of their children changed many things in the lives of the lathe operator and the trained technical draughtswoman: both children suffered from serious illnesses, requiring a great deal of care and all the strength of their parents. Johanne Richter was no longer able to pursue her profession and worked in sales and as a temp in the nursery. There was no time for hobbies, and it was only after the death of the children that the couple joined the social and welfare organisation Volkssolidarität in order to become actively involved.
Today, their grandsons and two great-grandchildren are the couple's pride and joy. Now dependent on help themselves, they are delighted with the family's support in managing their household.
